We are known for creating a home away from home environment for our Cubs and Bears to attend from the age of one to five year olds. In our loving and nurturing environment in the heart of Potters Bar, our children develop a sense of trust and security that turns into confidence as they grow. This helps make them into happy and independent individuals who are ready for school.
All our children learn and develop through structured and unstructured play, which lays the foundation for a child’s development for future learning and life skills. Staff create activities to support children’s learning depending on their skill base, learning style and interests, allowing them to always be challenged to keep them engaged and interested. These activities are either planned for child-initiated play or adult-guided learning across key areas of development that are provided throughout the day.
Children’s brains develop rapidly in the first five years of their life, especially the first three years. With their brains growing with the use of their five senses and the experiences they go through, new links and connections are made which shapes the way the children think, feel, behave and learn now and in the future.
At this age children go through many changes, these changes unfold in stages over time and are marked by generally accepted developmental milestones. They develop more socially, creating friendships and understand the causes of feelings. They have more control over their bodies as they become more coordinated and may have progressed to riding a tricycle.
